After your first USB connection, MinkMap enables wireless access automatically. You can connect on future visits without a cable.
USB is only required the very first time you connect a device. All subsequent connections can be made over WiFi.

How it works

When you complete the first USB connection, MinkMap configures your device for wireless pairing. From that point on, your device will appear in the dropdown on minkmap.com whenever it’s on the same WiFi network as your computer — no cable needed.

Connect wirelessly

1

Make sure both devices are on the same network

Your iPhone or iPad and your computer must be connected to the same WiFi network.
2

Open MinkMap in your browser

Go to minkmap.com. Make sure the MinkMap helper app is running on your computer.
3

Select your device from the dropdown

Your device should appear in the device dropdown without needing a USB cable. Select it and click Connect.

Troubleshooting

If your device doesn’t appear in the dropdown, reconnect once via USB to re-establish the wireless link. After that, WiFi should work again.
Make sure your computer’s firewall isn’t blocking the MinkMap helper app, and confirm both devices are on the same network (not a guest network or different band).
