The MinkMap helper is a lightweight background app that lets your browser communicate with your iOS device over USB or WiFi. You need to install and run it before you can connect a device.
1

Download the helper

2

Open the zip and launch the app

Double-click MinkMapHelper.zip to extract it, then double-click MinkMapHelper to launch it.If MacOS shows a warning that the app is from an unidentified developer:
  1. Right-click (or Control-click) MinkMapHelper.
  2. Select Open from the context menu.
  3. Click Open again in the confirmation dialog.
The standard double-click may be blocked by Gatekeeper on the first launch. Using right-click → Open bypasses this for apps you explicitly trust.
3

Confirm the helper is running

The helper runs silently — there is no window or dock icon. Once launched, return to minkmap.com in your browser and connect your device as normal.
The helper app is only compatible with Macs manufactured after 2020 that use M-series processors.Macs made before 2020 may experience compatibility issues and are not supported. If you encounter any problems, please contact support.
